Community Action Champions

Information and taster session for 'Manchester Community Action Champions' Six week course.

About this Event Do you live in Burnage, Levenshulme, Moss Side or Longsight in Manchester? Are part of a community group, faith organisation or residents’ network? Or are thinking about getting involved and wanting to make a positive difference to your community? Would you like to:

  • Share knowledge and skills about your community?

  • Develop your understanding about issues of hateful extremism, prejudice and discrimination?

  • Enhance skills in problem solving and conflict resolution?

  • Develop greater confidence in holding difficult conversations about issues of hateful extremism, polarisation and prejudice?

  • Increase your capacity to respond to local issues and participate in social action?

  • Gain confidence in making your voice heard.

  • Work together and build connections?

Sign up to our taster session: Monday 19 October, 6.00pm – 7.30pm Manchester Community Action Champions course will take place throughout November and December. Join the taster session to find out more! Taster session will be run over zoom. The zoom link will be shared after sign-up. About our work ‘Community Action Champions’ is run by the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Foundation, as part of the ‘Community Action for Peace’ programme. The charity was set up by the parents of the boys who were tragically killed in the IRA bombing of Warrington in 1993. ‘Manchester Community Action Champions’ is funded by the RADEQUAL campaign, Manchester's community response to building community resilience to prejudice, hate and extremism.
